Overview
SciSummary is an AI-powered platform that transforms complex scientific research paper into accessible, digestible summaries. As a UI/UX Design Intern and Full-Stack Engineer Intern, I contributed to redesigning the user experience of many user flows and implementing key features that improved user engagement and conversion rates. The project involved collaborating with a smallcross-functional team to enhance the platform's usability while maintaining its scientific accuracy and credibility.
Redesigned the landing page with a cohesive color palette and modern visual system. The dynamic interface adapts seamlessly across devices while maintaining consistency throughout the user experience. Key improvements include a reimagined hero section with clear value proposition, streamlined navigation that guides users through the platform's features, and carefully crafted typography hierarchy that enhances readability while establishing visual authority.
Systematically applied the new design system across all existing pages and components, ensuring visual consistency while preserving functionality. The redesign elevated the platform's professional appearance and improved content hierarchy throughout the entire user journey. This involved creating a comprehensive component library in Figma and React, establishing spacing scales, defining color tokens, and implementing responsive design patterns that work cohesively across desktop, tablet, and mobile viewports.
Designed intuitive subscription interfaces with progressive disclosure, leveraging Stripe API to dynamically display available plans with real-time pricing. Created multi-step modal flows powered by Stripe API that break down subscription management into clear stages from plan selection to payment confirmation. Implemented a clear visual hierarchy for billing states and integrated Stripe webhooks for secure payment processing and real-time updates. Optimized retention through strategic alternatives by presenting pause features or loyalty offers at key cancellation touchpoints, reducing churn while maintaining user trust.
